More Magic, less clothes!
Series: Masters of the Universe Classics
Real Name: Teela
Title: Heroic Heir to the Sorceress
Year: 2011

After being wounded by King Hssss’ venom, the Sorceress of Grayskull knew her time was short. She quickly arranged a mission with Teela to the Elder’s training citadel in the Polar Ice Cap. Here, the Sorceress revealed Teela’s true heritage, that she was secretly her magically cloned daughter and destined to become the next guardian of the Castle Grayskull and its secrets! Although in a state of disbelief, Teela knew in her heart that her mother spoke the truth, and trained with the Sorceress until the venom overtook her. Returning to Grayskull as the new guardian, Teela uses her new magic to protect the Power of Grayskull and guard the safety of all Eternians.

Review: As I already mentioned in my short review of Classics Teela, there have been many different versions of Teela, especially in the early years. While the original Teela figure had to pull double duty as both Teela and Sorceress (or Goddess), her look in the early mini-comics also differed wildly. Sometimes she was blonde, sometimes a redhead. Sometimes she wore her familiar white suit, sometimes she wore... well, less. This figure here homages one of those early looks, giving us a far more Barbarian-looking Teela with a metal bikini and fur pants. She carries a sword and a laser gun for weapons.

According to her profile text, though, this version of Teela is actually a later version of the character, who recently learned that she is the (cloned) daughter of the Sorceress and is now training to take over the magical duties of her dying mother. How this goes together with wearing a metal bikini is anyone's guess. So bottom line: it's an interesting figure, probably the archetype of the female Barbarian character if you will, but to me it's not really Teela.
