SKYWARP

Series: Generations Thrilling 30
Allegiance: Decepticon
Categories: Deluxe
Year: 2013

Skywarp could use his teleportation ability to tip any battle in favor of the Decepticons. Too bad his circuits aren't sharp enough to figure out when and where he should use it. Instead of creating an unrivaled tactical advantage, it mostly gets used for harmless pranks. Betcha didn't see that coming.

Remarks: Skywarp is a repaint of Starscream, so look for the full review there (as well as my recent review of CakedUp’s custom Maverick figure, which also uses this mold). Just some short words on the differences here. Skywarps have been repaints of Starscreams as far back as there have been Transformers, so it’s not surprising to see it here as well. Skywarp comes in his traditional colors of black and purple, which look fabulous on this figure. No structural changes, no new head, just the new colors. Which look great, did I mention that?

Skywarp here was a gift from my buddy James as a “Before”-version of Maverick. He comes with a comic book (from IDW’s Dark Cybertron crossover where Skywarp played a minor role) and... yeah, that’s pretty much it. It’s the inevitable Skywarp repaint of Generations Fall of Cybertron Starscream. He looks great. Seeker fans will get him alongside Starscream and Thundercracker anyway, but even if you’re looking for just one version of this mold, Skywarp would be a great choice. Because his colors look great on this mold, just saying.
